Despite the contradictory advice circulated in the late ’90s, if you wanna be my lover, please do not get with my friends.

I’m really excited for this weekend! 32 hours from now I will be en route to Northern California (solo) to spend 4 days in 3 cities: Davis, Napa, and Vacaville.
My first destination is Davis (my first time in this town) to spend some time with 2 close friends of mine. During my stay, we will be going out to a local bar where they will be having trivia night, getting up the next day to cruise the farmer’s market, and enjoying each others’ company around the house (or wherever else it is we end up going) :-) I also hope to walk around and/or ride bikes with them, and take some pictures with my new camera — I’ve seen pictures of some spots that are filled with beautiful trees and flowers.
Next, I will be heading to Vacaville to spend the morning and early afternoon with some very close family friends whom I’ve known for my entire life. Even though we only get a chance to see them once a year for Thanksgiving, they might as well be family. I’m always eager to see them, and I know whatever it is we do will be fun and filled with love and laughs.
Later in the day (and on to the next day), I will be in Napa volunteering for a music festival, BottleRock Napa Valley. I’m beyond amped for this. I have yet to find out what my duties will be during my assigned hours, but I do know I will be seeing some awesome bands and comedians, eating good food (and hopefully getting to taste some wines ;) — it is Napa after all), and meeting lots and lots of new people. I’m [agnostic-ly] praying that I’ll get to watch The Shins, The Black Keys, Iron & Wine, Jim Gaffigan, & Kristin Schaal.
So all in all, I’m really looking forward to this weekend, and I know it will be one for the books. Here’s to growing, learning, expanding my horizons, and of course, stepping out of my comfort zone. Can’t wait!!! :D
Was that you? Looked just like you
Strange things my imagination might do
Take a break, reflect on what we been through
Or am I just going crazy cause I miss you?
